I spent a beautiful year wth Stu. We met in January 1981, when my
punkrockband supported Charge in Germany.

I fell in love straight away and so did he.

I was only fifteen at the time!

I visited Stu in Leighton Road that summer of 1981, we had a marvellous
time, ate bananaicecream, drank bitter and messed up the fireplace.
Martin,Rob, and Dave were lovely, there are so many funny and beautiful stories to tell.

I went on tour with Charge that summer to Newcastle, York and a few more places, supporting Anti Pasti.

It was one of the most beautiful summers of my life.

Anyway, Stu visited me in the autumn of 1981 in Germany and I think he was a little shocked because not only was I a very cool little punk rock girl, but at fifteen still lived with my family and still had to go to school (!!).
We had a marvellous time anyway and my mum made Stu so many
cheese-sandwiches that he actually put on half a kilo or so.
The beanpole!
He went back to London and not very long afterwards I received a letter from Stu, telling me how very sorry he was, but he had met a very beautiful girl named Karen (!), and so we could no longer be togerther.
I cried a little and two years later moved to London without ever contacting him.

I was part of the squatters scene (we squatted the Peace-Centre in Rosebery Avenue 99 - 110, now the Amnesty-International house) and lived in London a few years, later moving on to Los Angeles, then to Norway & Germany.

Only a few years ago did I get in touch again with Stu, I found him through
the Internet and was really pleased and so was he. I heard about Johna and how happy Stu was in San Francisco.
I was overwhelmed and planned on visiting him in the US, because I quite
often travel to New York. Why not SF then?

I was looking forward to it so much when last December the bad news broke. I could not make it the next few months and then our beautiful Stu died - much too soon.
I loved him veryveryvery much, he was a shining, lovely spirit!
